How to Be a Smart Shopper
Lynn Tryba

It’s a sobering fact: Heart disease is the number one cause of death for Americans. But eating nutritious foods goes a long way toward improving your cardiovascular health. Here are some easy tips to follow for a week’s worth of healthy eating and shopping.

  1. First, make a list of all the foods you need and stick to this list. Think about all the meals and snacks you’ll consume.

  2. Try not to go shopping when you’re hungry. You’ll be more likely to crave foods that are full of carbs, sugar, and fat.

  3.  When inside the store, focus on finding the items on your list first. Your cart will be relatively full when you’re done and you’ll be more likely to avoid impulse buying.
