Eating more fruits and veggies may make young adults happier, calmer, and more energetic.
New Zealand researchers analyzed 21-day food diaries from 281 people around 20 years old. The participants reported what they'd eaten each day and how they felt.
Results showed a strong day-to-day relationship between more positive mood and higher fruit and veggie consumption. The researchers concluded that eating seven to eight total servings of fruits and veggies per day would produce a meaningful effect.
