Shop organic!
When it comes to breast health, eating a diet high in organic produce is a no-brainer. Food certified by the US Department of Agriculture as organic is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides, irradiation, or bioengineering. And specific nutrients in fruits and vegetables appear to play a part in reducing the risk of breast and other cancers. Vitamins C and E and beta carotene, for instance, are plentiful in foods from the garden and orchard. Dark leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables (including cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli) are potent ingredients in an anticancer diet.
