Milk as a Garlic Breath Remedy

A glass of milk next to a clove of garlic and a fresh flower

Drinking milk while eating meals that include garlic can reduce the breath odor associated with it.

Whole milk and fat-free milk both lower the concentration of odor-emitting compounds in the nose and mouth, but whole milk was found to be more effective. Drinking milk after a meal can help, but drinking it during the meal produces better results.

Garlic is a rich source of magnesium, selenium, and vitamins B6 and C and is reported to have many health benefits. Its characteristic odor and flavor is derived from its high levels of sulfur compounds.
